Scooby news flash

Here in Scooby we have some very peculiar dogs amongst us. One of them is our galga Furia. During an x-ray, it appeared that she had several organs in quite a strange area of her body. They were not where they should have been. Several organs were found in her chest! The poor girl was suffering because of a splinter in her breast-bone that may have been caused by some sort of accident, perhaps a car accident.  After this unusual discovery the vets decided to do surgery on her.  She has since recovered and is doing perfectly fine

Nine (mixed breed) puppies were recently brought to Scooby. One was saved by Dr.Couto, two were brought in by the gypsies and six were rescued by Scooby-members and have already been adopted. In the meantime María and María-José returned from their transport-voyage to France, Belgium, and Holland to bring dogs for several foundations. The temperature in France was severely high; it was so hot, that María and María-José needed to water the dogs inside the kennels. All dogs arrived safely as did María and María-José.

We also have five very, very little kittens, approximately two and a half weeks old.  They are being fed every 4 hours by the Dutch volunteers Chantal and Andrea.  Once the Dutch volunteers left, Finnish Nina took over the chore of feeding. The kittens are doing well at this moment, except for one who seems to be a little bit weaker. We all hope for the best for these little brave affectionate creatures!

Fermín was recently called by one of his pupils who, along with a friend, discovered a kitten that needed to be rescued. This is a small, but very promising development!  Hopefully, the younger people in Spain are beginning to learn to care for animals!   Fermín, of course, jumped in his car to rescue the kitten and she is okay.

A set of our black and white ducks have became parents. Thirteen little ducks were born! This is the mother’s second birth.  Her first nest eggs were eaten by other companion-animals, so this time the smart mother put her eggs in a 6 foot deep hole in a dead tree to avoid losing her eggs again.

How happy the donkey will be after its hair cut. This one has really long hair and it must be such a relief to get rid of so much hair. Achmed and Anna took care of this.
